![]() ![]() If you see any threads for that stuff please report them. The main reason to have an OT at all is the same one we've articulated before: Some minority members want a space to discuss the game's contents where they will not be shouted down by bigots.įor now though we're definitely not going to be platforming the marketing. Learning from what happened with Cyberpunk, if there is an OT, it will have a text-only OP created by staff that lays out the controversy with the game and IP. We're going to revisit whether to have an OT much closer to the game's release. JK Rowling's singular reach and influence, how closely that influence is tied to the Harry Potter IP, and what she chooses to do with that power, is a unique problem on top of this latest controversy. It's not just one bigoted game designer that made the difference here. This is the first time we've done something like this and we consider this a very exceptional case. This functionally bans almost all threads leading up to release, unless there are major new developments about the controversy or something along those lines. This means there will be no threads for trailers or official announcements, no hype threads, no fluff pieces about its features. The team has talked it over at length and as a result we've decided to implement a total ban on threads for promotional media for the game. I'll happily play it at launch, but still not sure if I'll ever play one of these for more than about 100 hours."So this is a uniquely awful situation where both the creator of the IP and a senior producer on the game have unrepentant bigoted views. Definitely more excited for this than I ever was for Diablo 3. ![]() Overall though, at level 17, I'm having a great time. Is there no way to expand the map or make it transparent without toggling back and forth from map to gameplay? I hope the HUD and UI get some customization launches at or soon after release I literally breezed through it after a server disconnect and then again on another character. I, personally, had a huge issue with the first "main" boss - the mom - only to later realize it was an issue with server stuff or latency. There should be a teleporter that shows up at the end of a dungeon instead of you clicking town tele or selecting something on the map Why can't the friends inside someone's party skip cutscenes? The "main" player can skip and then we're just stuck watching shit we've already seen cause we beat it ourselves earlier. ![]() But if I wasn't familiar with video games like this, I'd be lost. which takes me to: the party system and how missions/progress/quests work between friends at different levels is confusing. I feel everyone would be better off getting a quick explination of how the instances work, who you see/don't see, and how the party finder works. The music is also really good - it's not necessarily memorable, yet, but boy does it set a mood. Looks amazing on a high-res, HRR ultrawide on PC. but, yeah, my early impressions from someone who probably has a combined maybe ~200 hours in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 - enough that I'm familiar with them and had fun with them, but never got crazy addicted: Alright, so I've been playing pretty much for 12 hours straight - of course, facing plenty of log-in issues and disconnects and party-finding wonkiness. ![]()
